LAND ROVER TERRAIN RESPONSE 2とは

オリジナルTERRAIN RESPONSEとの違いはAutoモードの有無だということです。
*最近はWadingもあるようです。V8には更にDynamicが追加されています。

出ている情報が結構断片的なのでこれも丁寧にまとめていきましょう。

What is Terrain Response 2?
Terrain Response 2 builds upon the capabilities of the original Terrain Response system. Both systems allow drivers to select from multiple traction and stability control modes suited for different conditions. However, Terrain Response 2 takes things a step further by also adjusting braking, engine, and transmission settings.

Similarities and Differences from Terrain Response
Like the original Terrain Response, Terrain Response 2 offers specialised driving modes for surfaces like snow, sand, mud, and rocks. Both systems aim to optimise vehicle control and traction by coordinating various systems.
General Driving: For everyday on-road driving
Grass/Gravel/Snow: Maximises traction by adapting throttle response and transmission
Mud & Ruts: Allows more wheel spin to power through muddy conditions
Sand: Keeps momentum in deep sand through unique throttle mapping
Rock Crawl: Ultra-low gearing for precise rock crawling maneuvers
However, Terrain Response 2 has additional capabilities. It can automatically adjust brake pressure, throttle response, gear selection, and more based on sensor feedback. This allows it to seamlessly adapt to changing conditions.

Adjustable Vehicle Systems
Terrain Response 2 can modify settings for:
Brakes – Adjusts brake pressure and pedal sensitivity
Engine – Controls throttle response and torque output
Transmission – Selects appropriate gears for the conditions
Traction control – Manages wheel slip within safe limits

By coordinating all these systems simultaneously, Terrain Response 2 optimises vehicle mobility and handling over any terrain.

Components of the Terrain Response System
The key components of the Terrain Response system include:
Drive Mode Selector – Allows the driver to choose from different drive modes optimised for different conditions like grass/gravel/snow, mud and ruts, sand, and rock crawl.
Terrain Response Control Module – This module controls and integrates settings across the drivetrain, chassis, and safety systems when a drive mode is selected.
All Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) – Helps maintain a steady low speed over challenging terrains.
Integration with Vehicle Subsystems

Building on these core components, Terrain Response 2 goes a step further by integrating with various advanced driver assistance systems:
Adaptive Dynamics – Adjusts suspension dampers to suit the terrain.
Dynamic Stability Control – Maximises traction and stability specific to the selected drive mode.
Electric Power Assisted Steering – Alters steering feel and response for each drive mode.
